COCC Jazz Band Swings Into Autumn

Central Oregon Community College's (COCC) Big Band Jazz group is performing from 2-3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, in Wille Hall on the Bend campus. The single-set show will feature music recorded and performed by the Count Basie Orchestra. This is a free concert with donations welcome. "We will feature arrangements by Benny Carter, Bill Holman and Sammy Nestico," said Sarah Owen, band director. "It is the most swinging set we have played in a while. Bring your dancing shoes if you are inclined!" Sponsored by COCC, Big Band Jazz has been a part of the Central Oregon jazz scene for more than 30 years.
