The RJ Spangler Band is trying to make sure audiences don’t forget this groundbreaking artist. Besides continuing to play Jordan’s songs at live shows, the band is now releasing “The RJ Spangler Band Live at the Scarab Club Series: A Tribute to Louis Jordan,” a CD that includes some of Jordan’s biggest hits.

Salina native Cash Hollistah on Kansas Music Hall of Fame board The Salina Journal Salina native Cash Hollistah has accepted a position on the Kansas Music Hall of Fame Board of Directors. His primary function with the organization will be as social media manager, since he has extensive corporate experience in that area. Hollistah, 40, also has career credentials in the fields of music, videography, advertising and marketing, radio, arts education and public speaking.  “I am truly excited to be a part of the Kansas Music Hall of Fame,” Hollistah said in a release. “The KSMHoF is a wonderful organization that recognizes the music and musicians that come from this great state. As a fan of Kansas music and as a native Kansas artist myself, I’m happy to be part of preserving the legacies of those who came before me, as well as my fellow peers. I look forward to working alongside this board to induct this year’s class, and many future classes to come”.
