The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday staged a protest outside the State Assembly over extra teachers recruitment drive passed by the state cabinet.
The development comes after its demand for tabling an adjournment motion to discuss the entire teaching job scandal issue in state schools was rejected
The Supreme Court on Friday stayed the Calcutta High Court orders for a CBI probe into filing an application by the West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBCSSC) in a case related to the teachers’ recruitment scam.
The apex court also stayed the part of the high court order which had summoned West Bengal principal secretary Manish Jain before it Friday, November 25.
In an interim order, the Supreme Court on Friday stayed the Calcutta High Court order, directing the CBI to start an inquiry into the source of an application in connection with alleged irregularities in the appointment of teachers through the West Bengal Central School Service Commission.
