Dimapur, Sep. 24 (EMN): An awareness programme on e-waste management was jointly organised by Friends of Nature and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, in collaboration with e- Circle, Dimapur, under the aegis of IQAC, Kohima College, Kohima (KCK), on September 23. An update from the college informed that the resource person, Bendangwala Walling, co-founder of e-Circle, gave a briefing on how e-Circle handles electronic and electrical wastes. She explained the meaning of e-waste, the different kinds of e-wastes and how wastes are being handled. Walling also mentioned that most of the wastes are recycled illegally in India by the scrap dealers and other unauthorised parties. The resource person also highlighted on the e-waste (management) amendment rules, 2016, and that they have been executing their works accordingly.
