VIEW: An artist s impression of the prospective estate DETAILED plans have been unveiled for what could be built on former factory land in Bury. Housing giants Bellway already have outline planning permisson for up to 108 properties on the former Andrew Textiles site, off Walshaw Road., And now a more defined bid, for 97 homes, has been submitted to Bury Council for closer inspection. Part of the land, which was also home at one time to Lydall Industrial Filtration, has seen industrial units remain, with the western side now cleared. The filtration company has relocated its operations to Rossendale, in advance of the anticipated redevelopment, after bosses are said to have determined that the existing buildings and site were no longer suitable for modern commercial purpose
A PROPERTY developer has bought a 14-acre site in Lostock with plans to build 214 new homes. Bellway have acquired the plot at the former Hercules Business Park site on Lostock Lane and infrastructure is already underway. Planning permission was granted for the site in March 2020. Known as Hazel Fold, the development will feature a selection of new build homes, including one and two bedroom apartments as well as three and four bedroom semi-detached and detached homes. Infrastructure has already started on site, with building of the homes due to commence imminently. Bellway will officially launch the development in late February, releasing for sale the first few homes, followed by the opening of two show homes in the Summer.
