Officer Who Mocked Lebron James Gets Fired
A law enforcement officer whose social media video mocking basketball star LeBron James went viral has been fired, an Idaho official confirmed Thursday.
Nate Silvester, who was working for the Bellevue Marshal’s Office when he made the video, was suspended in April while an investigation took place. He was later allowed to return to work but placed on probation.
During the week of May 20, while working, Silvester violated several city and state policies, Mayor Ned Burns said in a statement.
“After his previous policy violations Deputy Marshal Silvester was placed on probation and was on, what is called, a ‘last chance agreement’ with his superior officers. Because of his continued policy violations, the Marshal has terminated Mr. Sylvester [sic],” Burns said.

Bellevue Deputy Marshal Nate Silvester was fired Thursday following a viral TikTok video mocking NBA Star LeBron James. Silvester was initially placed on leave for a week but had returned to work. The mayor described the firing as Silvester’s “failure to follow clearly laid out well-established policies.” In a Facebook post Thursday morning, Bellevue Mayor Ned Burns wrote that Deputy Marshal Nate Silvester was terminated from the Bellevue City Marshal’s Office for “continued policy violations.”
Burns referred to the violation of “several” city and state policies on policing during the week of May 20. The mayor said Silvester’s termination had nothing to do with his online posts and he did not specify the exact reasoning for the termination.
