South Korean President Moon Jae In said on Dec. 13 that his nation is not considering joining countries such as the United States, Britain and Australia in staging a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Winter Olympics next year.
The United States was the first to announce a boycott, saying its government officials would not attend the February 4-20 Games because of China's human rights "atrocities" in the western region of Xinjiang.
The announcement came after the White House, the Australian government and the UK government confirmed diplomatic boycotts of the Winter Games in February to protest Chinese human rights abuses.
