Canadians under travel restrictions took to the outdoors in force last year. With another long winter over and COVID still very much affecting our way of life, many folks are looking for an adventure-filled summer on the trails. Excited as we are to explore the great outdoors, care must be taken to do so responsibly.
Mountain trails in the Kananaskis region have been particularly well-trodden as of late. Visitors to Kananaskis Country increased an estimated 30 per cent in 2020. This made things busy for Kananaskis public safety teams, who responded to an additional 150 calls in 2020 a 53 per cent rise from 2019.
