I thought forget it; I ll just throw it away, McBride said.
As he pushed his bike back home toward Beaver Falls, a bystander said, Hey, there s a place I volunteer at, and they ll take your bike and fix it.
That s how McBride discovered Communicycle. It s the best-kept secret in Beaver County, McBride said.
McBride lugged his blue and orange beach cruiser to Communicycle s New Brighton hub, where volunteers fixed the bike for free. McBride helped out, and later was able to pick out two refurbished bikes for his sons, Airek and Viktor. They already had bikes, though they were pretty jacked up, he recalled.
