Because the bar’s cook, Brittany Cormier, was left-handed, the kitchen was designed to provide her with easy access, owner Candia Ledet said.
“Brittany was left-handed, so when you go into the kitchen you notice all of the stuff is packed on the left side,” Ledet said. “She was going to decorate it. She had already started hanging her stuff. That was her kitchen. In fact, my husband was getting the kitchen set up to Brittany’s standards.”

Kaplan man charged in murder-for-hire case has history of violent crimes

LAFAYETTE, La. â The Kaplan man charged in connection with a murder-for-hire plot to silence his the rape victim so she could not testify against him has a history of sexual and violent crimes.
Cormier has also been charged with solicitation for murder.
According to court records obtained by our media partners at The Advocate, Cormier has a history of violent crimes and faced next to no jail time for some of the charges, which include forcible rape, third-degree rape, intimidating a witness, cyberstalking, armed robbery and animal cruelty, the newspaper reports.
Andrew Eskine, 25, and Dalvin Wilson, 22, came to the home located at 103 Montegut St. in Terrebonne Parish to fulfill the hit taken out on her by her uncle.
When the men arrived at the home, Brittany lied to them and said she was Beaux’s niece. She was shot and killed along with
Hope Nettleton, a neighbor who was at the home at the time, and tried to help her fight off the men.
Investigators say they had a strong rape case against Beaux who is a convicted sex offender. Brittany’s daughter was set to testify as the victim so he hired the men to kill his niece to stop her from testifying.
