Additional charges filed against Montegut murder-for-hire suspects

The new charges result from evidence that the men conducted surveillance on the victim’s home and then tried to carry out the crime but were not successful, authorities said.   Deputies, detectives and crime scene investigators responded around 10:20 p.m. Jan. 13 to 103 Montegut St. to investigate shots fired, the Sheriff’s Office said. They found the two women suffering from gunshot wounds. They were both pronounced dead shortly afterward.  Investigators said the three men conspired in a murder-for-hire plot hatched by Beaux Comier, who is Brittany Cormier’s brother. He had been arrested in Vermillion Parish on a third-degree rape charge of a relative.
