The train did not have positive train control. In fact no nj transit trains have it. The transit agencies has until december of 218 to install it on all of its trains. Now before ntsb investigators can even get up close to most of that train, crews need to secure the station. What we are looking at is radar and satellite, a nice wide view shows us that we have an area of rain out to sea, we have clouds over our region and showers sitting to our west and south. What i am interested in is this line of storms. It has some strength to it. Showers, thunderstorms within it, lightning picking up, registering. Looking at those storms out of reach. But later this morning into this afternoon may see some of the showers and thunderstorms move into the area. Today isnt a complete washout, but on, off storms are in the forecast.
