‘American Idol’: See all the performances from ‘The Comeback’ episode, how to vote

Last night’s “American Idol” episode didn’t actually include anyone from this season.
The singing competition brought back 10 finalists from the previous season to compete for one second-chance spot on this season.
On Sunday night, the show narrowed down the competition to the top 9, allowing for one extra spot. Two Berklee College of Music students were part of the show but Brennan ‘Beane’ Hepler was eliminated. Grace Kinstler, however, got enough fan votes to continue.
Fans also have a chance to vote for the contestant from The Comeback episode. Fans can vote up to 10 times per voting platform.

After being the judges’ save last week, Katy Perry was hoping Brennan ‘Beane’ Hepler’s performance of “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life” from “Dirty Dancing” was enough to keep him singing another week on the show.
“It’s in your blood. It’s in your veins,” Perry said. “I think you are ready for the stage and to go on tour.”
Unfortunately, fans sent the 23-year-old Massachusetts man home on Sunday.
“The most incredible ride,” Beane wrote on Instagram after the show. “I’m so grateful for the love that you all have given to me.”

Grace Kinstler started Sunday night’s “American Idol” episode on a happy note but judge Katy Perry wants the contestant to go even further.
All the contestants sang songs that had won Oscars in celebration of the Oscars next week. Kinstler sang ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams.
“You can sing the telephone book,” Perry said.
But she didn’t feel Kinstler took her advice from the previous week of “locking into those more iconic songs.”

Brennan ‘Beane’ Hepler, 23-year-old Massachusetts man and Berklee College of Music graduate, didn’t win over American after his performance on Sunday. But he did win over the judges.
Beane did not receive enough votes from fans to move on to the next round. Instead, he sang for the judges save on Monday.
The episode was the first of the season to air live. A the end of the episode the judges were allowed two saves.
