WILMINGTON – The entire Cape Fear region knows the Wilmington Riverwalk is the best in the country and now it could get the national recognition it deserves.
USA Today s 10 Best has nominated the downtown riverwalk as America s Best Riverwalk. In 2014, it was named the similar Reader s Choice title of Best American Riverfront.
Securing the top spot was no easy feat, as the ranking of riverwalks is determined by a public poll that asked people from all over the country to cast their vote for the best among 20 options. When it came time to cast their ballots, the Wilmington community rallied and brought home the title – and it s time to do it again.
