Drinking water advisory for Palm Beach lifted after toxin levels fall
Palm Beach Daily News
Palm Beach residents and businesses were notified Friday afternoon they can resume using tap water for drinking and cooking, one week after the City of West Palm Beach issued a drinking water advisory following the discovery of a dangerous toxin in its water supply.
West Palm Beach, which supplies water to the town and nearby South Palm Beach, lifted the alert it announced May 28 after tests showed the city s water supply was contaminated with cylindrospermopsin, a toxin produced by blue-green algae that can cause health problems if ingested by vulnerable people.
Many of the 120,000 customers of West Palm Beach Utilities who drink its treated water still believe they should have been told about tests that showed toxins in the drinking water when the problem was first discovered.
Town attorney: Trump considered bona fide employee of Mar-a-Lago May 10, 2021 at 11:35 AM EDT - Updated May 10 at 2:26 PM
Former President Donald Trump is a bona fide employee of his Palm Beach resort and therefore entitled to live there, the town attorney has concluded.
After reviewing a 1993 declaration of use agreement between Palm Beach, Trump and his Mar-a-Lago Club, Town Attorney John C. Randolph offered a legal opinion that the agreement doesn t specifically prohibit former President Trump from residing at Mar-a-Lago, Randolph confirmed in an email to WPTV over the weekend.
Randolph also advised that, under the town s zoning code, private clubs may provide living quarters for bona fide employees.
