New Delhi: The relocation of Rohingyas from camps of Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh to one of the nearby islands has brought in positive news for a number of Rohingyas particularly teenagers.
One of them is ten-year old Saiful who lost his leg while crossing over to Bangladesh from Myanmar.
Seven-year-old Saiful Islam had to seek refuge in Bangladesh along with his parents in late 2017, during the military crackdown in Myanmar against the Rohingya community.
While crossing the border, his left leg was suddenly blown up after he stepped on a land mine. Before he knew what happened, he lost consciousness.
After rushing to cross the border, his parents Md Rafique and Ayesha Begum were finally able to admit their son to a hospital.
Saiful, now ten years old, on his first day on Bhashan Char yesterday walked out of the naval ship and took a long breath of joy.

Members of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) rescued a volunteer of Cyclone Preparedness Programme (CPP) of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society early yesterday, 10 hours after he was abducted from a Cox s Bazar Rohingya refugee camp.
Hossain Ali (45) was abducted allegedly by some Rohingya miscreants around 3pm on Wednesday while he was on duty at block A/1 in Shafiullah Kata Rohingya camp in Ukhia upazila, said CPP Cox s Bazar Deputy Director Hafiz Ahmad.
Ali was tortured by the abductors, he said, adding that he is now undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

Members of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) rescued a volunteer of Cyclone Preparedness Programme (CPP) of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society early today, 10 hours after he was abducted from a Cox s Bazar Rohingya refugee camp.
Hossain Ali (45) was abducted allegedly by some Rohingya criminals around 3:00pm yesterday while he was on duty at block A/1 in Shafiullah Kata Rohingya camp in Ukhia upazila, said CPP Cox s Bazar Deputy Director Hafiz Ahmad.
He was also tortured by the abductors and now he is undergoing treatment at Cox s Bazar District Sadar Hospital, he said.
