Ellsworth Police Log Week of May 20 Driver loses control after punch thrown ELLSWORTH Police were called to a three-person fight outside a truck that was driven off Bangor Road near Gilpatrick Road on May 15. When police arrived, two of the men walked away from the truck and, at least at first, no one would admit to being the driver. Then, Darion Turner, 27, of Dudley, N.C., said he was at the wheel. He said he drove off the road after one of the occupants punched him in the face, but Turner would not say which man had thrown the punch.

Road pulverizing to begin in Prince Edward County

/ Napanee Today May 17, 2021 | 8:00 AM A heads up to commuters in Prince Edward County, a new batch of road work starts this week. Road pulverizing will begin Monday as part of Phase 2 of this year’s Rural Roads Rehabilitation program. Culvert replacements on the roads under repair will continue to take place during this time. The work may cause minor traffic delays and may create noise and minor dust. The next phase of the project will be road repaving in the summer. Areas affected by the work include: Cressy Bayside Road (County Road 8 to the end) Prinyers Drive (Prinyers Cove Crescent to the end)

Island Police: Buoy almost bests eagle in Northeast Harbor  Mount Desert  Around 11 a.m. on March 30, an officer was advised about some debris that was in the roadway along Peabody Drive in Northeast Harbor and made contact with some workers who had been sweeping the debris into the road. After the workers were spoken to, they cleaned up their mess.  An officer assisted the Mount Desert Fire Department on April 1 at 12:32 p.m. with an oil spill at the intersection of Eagle Lake and Route 198.  At 5:33 p.m. on April 1, a motorist called in a report of a dog being hit by a car at the intersection of Eagle Lake and Sound Drive. The dog was transported to Acadia Vet and later to an emergency vet in Brewer. The well-being of the dog is unknown at the time of this report.
