He was allegedly trying to steal shoes from one man one another, Oliver Williams of oakland intervened and was stabbed to death. The man, who shoes were being stolen, walked off the train with only one. And bart detectives havent spoken to him yet. Right now we have 35 officers on duty at any one point in time throughout the entire 48 patients. Reporter kpix five has learned that there werent any officers at or nears south tabor station when a train carrying a dying williams pulled in. Powers says bart has fired or hired 54 sworn officers and 11 Community Service officers. But even that amount is not enough to put an officer on every train. This peak hour there would be 58. There are no major problems getting toward the bay bridge but again the early backup shows coming off of the maze, a smooth drive through Contra Costa County, and from the north bay, both across the carquinez bridge and the golden gate bridge.
