PANAMA CITY A scenic road race in February will benefit Junior League programs supporting women and children in Bay County.
The Junior League of Panama City s 5K Race and Fun Run for Feb. 13 will travel the roads of the Cove neighborhood along Massalina Bayou and St. Andrew Bay. Check-in and registration begin at 7 a.m. and both races begin at 8 a.m.
The women volunteers of the Junior League of Panama City (JLPC) are veterans at holding successful road races, including 5K, 10K and Girls on the Run races.
“The League is excited to be able to bring back the 5K race program,” said races chairwoman Jenna Pascoli. “We hope you will join us in sharing your love for the League by participating in this event.”
Martin Theatre hosts mini musicians, country singers at the Majestic
PANAMA CITY BEACH The Martin Theatre is bringing two musical performances to the beach this weekend.
The 39th The Martin Presents. series will start with Country Rewind playing classic country music of the 1960s-70s at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22. Nashville recording artists, the duo of AJ Swearingen and Jayne Kelli, will perform. The season ticket price is $180, though individual tickets are also available for each show. Then a fundraising performance for the nonprofit Many Mini Musicians, Young Artists Spotlight will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23. Founded by 16-year-old Ruby Tilghman, Many Mini Musicians funds fine arts programs throughout public schools and provides students with opportunities to experience the arts.
