The management of Greenfield University Kaduna is appealing to the government and the public to assist in securing the safe release of its staff and students.
This was even as it pleaded with the abductors of the students to spare the lives of the remaining students with them.
This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday to newsmen and signed by the Registrar of the institution, Bashir Muhammad.
“We are at this point calling on the government and people of goodwill who can be of assistance to come to our aid as the situation is becoming overwhelming,” the statement said.

The management of Greenfield University in Kaduna state has on Saturday, appealed to the government and people of goodwill who could be of assistance to come to their aid as the situation surrounding the kidnap of the university students was becoming overwhelming.
In a statement signed by Bashir Muhammad, the University Registrar lamented that efforts made to secure the release of the students had not yielded any result so far.
“We are all aware of the incident which occurred at Greenfield University on Tuesday 20th April 2021 by 8:15 pm where some staff and students were abducted. ”
The management of Greenfield University in Kaduna State has called on the Nigerian government and people of goodwill to come to their aid concerning the kidnap of the university students.
The university in a statement signed by its Registrar, Bashir Muhammad, lamented that efforts made to secure the release of the students had not yielded any result, adding that the situation is overwhelming.
Part of the statement read: “We are all aware of the incident at Greenfield University on Tuesday 20th April 2021 by 8:15 pm where some staff and students were abducted.
“Efforts have been made to secure the release of these staff and students, which have not yielded the desired results.
The assailants also kidnapped a yet-to-be ascertained number of students, said to be mainly females.

Bandits who attacked Greenfield University along the Kaduna-Abuja Highway in Kaduna State on Tuesday night, killed a porter of the institution, identified as Paul Okafor.
The assailants also kidnapped a yet-to-be ascertained number of students, said to be mainly females, it was learnt.
The bandits stormed the school located on kilometre 34 along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway in the Chikun local government area of Kaduna State around 8:30pm with sophisticated weapons.
They reportedly fired their guns indiscriminately, killing Okafor, the porter in charge of the male hostel, in the process.
