In an interview with the Hausa Service of Voice of America (VOA), monitored by Daily Trust, a leader of the bandit group who identified himself as Sani Idris Jalingo, threatened that if the Kaduna State Government or their families fail to pay a ransom of N100 million as well as provide them with 10 brand Honda motorcycles by Tuesday, the remaining students would be killed.

Three students of the Greenfield University in Kaduna State who were abducted by bandits on Tuesday night have been killed by their abductors.

The Kaduna State Commissioner for internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, who confirmed the sad news, said the remains of three students were found on Friday in Kwanan Bature village, a place close to the university.
One person has been killed as gunmen attacked the Greenfield University in Kaduna State.
The State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, confirmed the incident to journalists on Wednesday.
Mr. Aruwan during the visit to the school disclosed that the victim is a staff of the private university.
He said that the number of students abducted is yet to be ascertained, but will be confirmed after a headcount of the students.

Briefing journalists, he said, “Yesterday Tuesday 20th of April 2021, at 8:30 pm we received a distress call that armed bandits were attacking Greenfield University, troops and other security agencies were immediately deployed to the institution.

Bandits who attacked Greenfield University along the Kaduna-Abuja Highway in Kaduna State on Tuesday night, killed a porter of the institution, identified as Paul Okafor.
The assailants also kidnapped a yet-to-be ascertained number of students, said to be mainly females, it was learnt.
The bandits stormed the school located on kilometre 34 along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway in the Chikun local government area of Kaduna State around 8:30pm with sophisticated weapons.
They reportedly fired their guns indiscriminately, killing Okafor, the porter in charge of the male hostel, in the process.
