My name is Steve Osborne and i used to be a new york city cop for 20 years. Yes, the accent is real. But the funny thing is i didnt know i had an accent until i came to savannah. I was a cop for 20 years and then became a writer. People ask me how do you go from being a cop to a writer . I dont like telling this story but it happened by accident. Amazing video, sent in by our viewers. Witnesses tell us they saw steam pouring out from under the street, onto west 58t street, between 6th and 7th avenue. S. Avenues, between 10 00 this morning. They tell us a Water Main Leak caused a reaction with a High Pressure steampipe. Massive plumes of steam fill the air. They quickly located the Water Main Leak and shut off that water main. Explosion. As you can see, it would be a lot worse, if there was an actual explosion. But again, were dealing with highpressure steam that is in the street here in manhattan. And just some water that might surround the pipe and not compromise it, would create a small steam condition, which it did. Was it scary . Yeah. It was pretty scary. Because i didnt know what was going on. So i started recording, and they started telling people to and then they blocked it off. But yeah, it was a bit scary. Well have traffic and weather in just a moment. First, a Small Plane Crash lands on a residential street in bay port long island. The pilot and passenger hurt but police say could have been much worse. We have more from Stony Brook University hospital. Both the pilot and passenger came here after the plane crashing down to the ground on fire, but are injured but are alive. Their survival is being described as as miraculous. The plane cam crashing to the ground narrowly missing homes and businesses. He stalled came back in and hit the first poll, twisted and stuff. And one passenger took off headed from up state new york around 7 p. M. Sunday after gaining altitude trouble. The pilot attempted to turn back but never made it. The small plane falling from the sky breaking through branches, clipping a utility poll catching fire on impact. We are in our house and heard a big crash, looked out thewindow and saw a big dark cloud of smoke rising into the air it was kind of short, didnt linger.
