The Ministry of National Guidance and Religious Affairs has assured the Churches, Religious and Faith-Based organizations that the recently launched disbursement of Empowerment Scheme only marked the official start of the fund distribution process.
Ministry of National Guidance and Religious Affairs, Permanent Secretary, (PS) Howard Sikwela, said the launch by the Minister Godfridah Sumaili marked the first lot of distribution, which saw 84 successful applicants announced.
Dr. Sikwela said out of the K50 million granted by the treasury, the Ministry has so far only received K25 million Kwacha of which a total of K14 million was awarded to successful applicants yesterday.
Atiwa East District Assembly makes donations towards the development of Agriculture

The Atiwa East District Assembly under the leadership of Hon. Lawyer Kwabena Panin Nkansah has donated two threshers and 200 pieces of rice nets to over 300 farmers belonging to 5 Farmer Based Organisations in the rice value chain.
The donation was made in fulfillment of the District Assembly’s commitment towards the promotion of rice production in the district.
The Atiwa East District Chief Executive Hon Lawyer Kwabena Panin Nkansah urged farmers to adopt the use of rice nets. He said that the donation of the rice nets was a measure to reduce the stress in driving away birds manually by farmers. He added that the nets will also help solve the problem of using children to scare birds so they can return to school.

Jos, Jan 11,2021 Prof. Innocent Ujah, President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA),has commended Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau for completing the hospital projects he inherited by his predecessors.
Ujah, who made the commendation during a courtesy visit to the governor on Monday at the Government House, Jos, also lauded him for the establishment of the state Health Insurance Scheme.

WALPE statement
On the 11th of December 2020, Women’s Academy for Leadership and Political Excellence (WALPE) launched a campaign dubbed 2.2 Million Votes for Women from Women. The campaign aims to engage and mobilise 2.2 million women across the country to vote for women candidates in the 2023 elections.
The campaign will serve as an inclusive and non-partisan platform for demanding the effective implementation of the gender equality provisions of the Zimbabwean Constitution through identifying, engaging, sensitizing, mobilizing women voters, and also the general population on the need and importance of electing women into leadership positions, and mobilizing them to vote for women candidates in order to reverse the historical and structural inequalities that inhibit women from effectively and fully occupying influential leadership positions.
