Fugitive diamantaire Mehul Choksi s wife Priti Choksi on Wednesday (June 2) made a shocking claim that the woman shown on media channels is not the same woman that they knew as Barbara .
Barbara Jarabica is rumoured to be Mehul Choksi s girlfriend and is known to his other acquaintances as well. She is the mysterious woman whose name cropped up in the case and is alleged to be the female accomplice who had a role in Choksi s movement from Antigua to Dominica.
Mehul Choksi's case took a shocking turn after reports claiming that Barbara Jarabica, his alleged girlfriend, was used to 'honeytrap' for the PNB Scam accused.
In the first official reaction by the Indian government on Mehul Choksi development, the ministry of external affairs has said all efforts will be made to bring him back. Choksi is involved in the multi-crore PNB scam and is in Dominica facing trial for illegally entering the country.
"India remains steadfast in its efforts to ensure that fugitives are brought back to India to face justice," the MEA spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi said.

Mehul Choksi, the absconding diamond trader, is unlikely to come to India at-least for next one month, sources said. The diamantaire, who is facing his possible deportation to India, is being heard by two courts of Dominica in two separate matters. Sources say, till the time both the cases are not settled, Mehul Choksi won’t be deported to India.
In one of the cases filed by Mehul Choksi, the High Court has to decide if Mehul Choksi was arrested illegally by the Dominican Police and to which country he should be sent back. In another case, the Magistrate Court is hearing the matter of Mehul Choksi’s alleged illegal entry into their country.
