John Michael Balbierz
MARQUETTE, MI – John Michael Balbierz, age 67, of Marquette, entered eternal life Saturday, February 20, 2021, at UP Health System-Marquette.
Born April 24, 1953, in Marquette, a son of John and Barbara (Gustafson) Balbierz, Jr., John was raised in Marquette and graduated from Marquette Senior High School, Class of 1971. Following graduation, John began a career as a lineman with the Marquette Board of Light and Power where he worked for nearly ten years before an on-the-job injury forced an early retirement from there. He worked other jobs throughout his life as a member of the pipe fitters union and also owned and operated a tavern for several years before permanently retiring. John was a big hearted and family oriented man. He loved to cook for family and friends; especially around the holidays and football season.
