SunStar Lahug temporarily shuts down some establishments on Sundays

+ February 14, 2021 BARANGAY Lahug in Cebu City has once again strictly enforced quarantine protocol, allowing only money remittance centers, pharmacies and gasoline stations to operate every Sunday starting on Feb. 14, 2021.
Barangay Captain Hazel Ann Empleo said grocery stores are included in the list of establishments which are temporarily closed on Sundays. Food establishments can remain open but they cannot cater to dine-in customers.
February 01, 2021 THE Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) apprehended 1,825 health protocol violators, including 27 minors, from Jan. 15, 2021 to Jan. 31 as part of Oplan Bulabog.
The minors, aged 14 to 17, were sent home and their parents warned not to let them leave the house.
The CCPO also inspected 286 establishments, half of which were issued show cause orders for not implementing social distancing inside premises or for selling alcoholic beverages beyond the limit of two bottles per customer.
According to CCPO Director Col. Josefino Ligan, majority of the violators were caught not wearing face masks or not having quarantine passes while in public. This was especially the case in Barangay Guadalupe, which has one of the highest coronavirus cases in the city, he said.

With the increase in the number of cases, DOH 7 spokesperson Dr. Mary Jean Loreche urged the public to be disciplined in following health protocols, especially with a new variant that is said to be highly transmissible.

SunStar 12 doctors among 166 persons nabbed during Oplan Bulabog

+ January 17, 2021 TWELVE doctors working for a private hospital in Cebu City were apprehended by operatives of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) after they were caught drinking after curfew hours inside a bar in Barangay Banilad on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021.
They were among the 166 persons who were caught by CCPO operatives and members of the Prevention, Restoration, Order, Beautification and Enhancement (Probe) team during Oplan Bulabog, which started Friday night, Jan. 15.
