ILOILO CITY, April 12 (PIA) – The timely and accurate information provided by the public to the government security forces is vital for prompt response by authorities against the terrorist groups.
Army’s 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division Commander, Major General Eric Vinoya, said that any information relayed by the locals and communities against the Communists Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army Terrorists (CNT) will be acted promptly.
He said that the recent successful armed engagements of the Army in Iloilo towns can be attributed to the vigilance, support and cooperation of the peace-loving people in the area.
“In order for the Army to remain at the upper hand in the fight against the CPP-NPA Terrorists we need to be relentless in our operations against this group. Any information relayed to us by the locals and the communities will be acted promptly,” Vinoya said in a press release from the 3ID’s Public Affairs Office.

ILOILO CITY – The Philippine Army 12th Infantry Battalion (IB) seized various firearms following a series of encounters with the New People’s Army in Iloilo this week.

Private Hazel Joy Durotan, civil military officer of the 301st Infantry Brigade (301), said the armaments were seized in Janiuay and Bingawan.
The most recent encounter took place in Barangay Alabidhan, Bingawan early Wednesday morning after troops received a tip from residents that NPA rebels were passing through the area.
