follow so there will be a lot for you to go through. bring it on. this is why why go to the eye doctor frankly. democratic congressman adam schiff, thank you to you and your colleagues for your long year and a half of service on this investigation. thank you in advance for what you re about to dump on us in the next couple of days in terms of evidence and making time to be here tonight? thank you. much more to come in our primetime recap of the january 6th investigation releasing their criminal referrals today. signing off on their final report. stay with us. standing on the west front of the capitol in 1981 president ronald reagan described it this way, the orderly transfer of authority as called for in the constitution routinely takes place as it has for almost two centuries and few of us stop to think how unique we really are. in the eyes of many in the world this every four-year ceremony
department has been asleep on this. there is, for example, a newly appointed special counsel who has been sending out subpoenas since thanksgiving, including to multiple states where they tried this fake electors thing and all the rest. and again, the justice department does not need to do anything with these referrals. but these are not flippant referrals from the january 6th investigation. they are providing tons of evidence, minutely documented, organized as it pertains to 4 to 6 specific charges with a specific indications of who to talk to to develop more evidence to embrace to potentially support further charges. this has more sort of heft to it as a criminal referral then the justice department might have been expecting. and before we talk about what this means, just one more point i how the investigators are trying to communicate what they are saying here with the justice department. one more point about how they are trying to make this a compelling referral to prado role
