Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State for Tourism, French Nationals Abroad and Francophonie, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, took part, today, April 29, in the informal meeting of EU development ministers devoted to redesigning the European architecture for development financing.
The ministers examined ways to better coordinate the actions undertaken by the European financial institutions active in the development sector, notably the European Investment Bank (EIB), led by the EU member states, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), an international institution based in London.
The minister of state underscored the role of Europe as a strategic partner in responding to development challenges, notably in sub-Saharan Africa, within the framework of the ambitious European development policy goals. India should consider a temporary shutdown to handle its devastating Covid-19 surge, Dr. Anthony Fauci said.
“One of the things to be considered is to temporarily shut down – I mean literally lock down – so that you wind up not having more spread,” Fauci said Friday in an interview with The Indian Express.
India reported over 400,000 Covid-19 cases in a single day Friday, breaking a global record.
