Willie “Billie” Windsor Wester Dickson, 89, of the Inwood Community near Grand Ridge, departed from this world to her eternal home in Heaven in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 23, 2021.
She passed away at the Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, Florida, where she received excellent medical services and loving care. Born to William Washington Wester and Pencie Audry Windsor Wester on October 30, 1931, she was the last surviving and oldest of four children born to that union. Billie was born at home and grew up in Inwood, a small community that was settled and named by her father.
Billie was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Jeanne W. Pelt and Rebekah W. Harrell; her brother, Doyle A. “Jack” Wester (wife Nell); three half-sisters, Nettye Chancey, Annette Bevis, and Elee Glisson; and one half-brother, Emmett Wester. Also predeceasing her were two nephews, Maurice (Maury) Harrell and Gregory Harrell; and one great-nephew, Luke Pelt.

Kinchen during a motivating and moving commencement address to graduating seniors of the spring 2021 class. The graduation ceremony was held on May 21, outside at the Grand Bobby Pavilion located in historic Heritage Village on the beautiful campus of The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville. The college was filled with excitement as family, friends, faculty, and staff arrived early, many traveling from great distances, to celebrate the momentous culmination of hard work, diligent study, and dedication the graduating seniors put into fulfilling the requirements for their degree.

BCF trustees adopt plan for presidential succession and approve 2021-2022 annual budget.
The Trustees of The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) met on the campus in Graceville for their annual meeting on May 18, 2021. The Board received reports on rebuilding efforts since Hurricane Michael and changes in the school’s curriculum. The items receiving the most attention in the meeting dealt with a plan for Presidential Succession and the approval of the 2021-2022 Operating Budget.
Recognizing the impact of COVID 19 during the last year and the growing competition in ministry preparation brought on by new and expanding programs, BCF President Thomas A. Kinchen recommended an operating budget of $5,913,000 for the 2021-2022 session. This total represents a decrease of $87,000 from the school’s 2020-2021 budget. Most of the cuts came as the result of recent faculty retirements.

BCF students take a break from studying to attend Midnight Breakfast.
During the week before finals each semester, students at The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville have a chance to take a much-needed break from their school work and enjoy a time of fellowship at “Midnight Breakfast.” Several years ago, BCF President Thomas A. Kinchen recognized that students needed a break from their long hours of studying and completing papers, so he inaugurated the first midnight breakfast event. Breakfast served by the President and their Professors has remained a sweet tradition as tired, stressed students are provided with a nutritional meal as they study.

On Monday, May 10, The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville held Senior Honors Day recognizing members of the Spring 2021 graduating class who achieved honor status and maintained a high-Grade Point Average (GPA). From the worship set performed by graduating senior and class president John Lukas Campbell to opening remarks, the entire service was filled with worship, praise, and thanksgiving for what the Lord has done in the lives of the 2021 graduates.
