Members of the Ottawa detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are asking for public assistance as they investigate how a pedestrian was injured on Highway 416.
The OPP responded Wednesday at 2 p.m. to a collision on southbound Highway 416 that sent a pedestrian to The Ottawa Hospital in serious condition.

The collision occurred south of Bankfield Road and required that the southbound lanes of the highway be shut for several hours.
OTTAWA A section of Highway 416 reopened south of Ottawa early Thursday morning after police investigated a collision involving a pedestrian. Ontario Provincial Police responded to the call on Highway 416 south of Bankfield Road at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday. No other information has been released.
