The Bank of Baroda said it is taking all necessary steps for the smooth functioning of the Bank’s Branches and Offices on the day of the strike, in the event the strike materializes, the functioning of the branches and offices may be affected.
Employees at the bank began working on alternate Saturdays seven years ago. Since 2015, bank unions have been clamouring for time off on all Saturdays and Sundays.
According to the bank's data, it pays 2.75 percent interest on term deposits with a maturity of 7 to 14 days. The interest rate is 2.9 percent for a period of 15 to 45 days.
