Nagad joins forces with GP to drive digital financial inclusion

DHAKA, Dec 16, 2020 (BSS) – Nagad, the digital financial service of Bangladesh Post Office, has officially started the process to bring the users of Grameenphone Limited under this state-of-the-art innovation.
The initiative will enable the 7.6 crore Grameenphone users to efficiently avail the services of Nagad, said a press release today.
To this end, an agreement was signed between Nagad and Grameenphone Limited in this regard recently.
Under the deal, Grameenphone customers can become the clients of Nagad by opening an account dialling 167# from their mobile phone and setting the PIN. For the last few months, Grameenphone customers have been availing this innovative service on a trial basis.
Govt inks deal with Nagad to distribute stipend to primary students

DHAKA, Dec 13, 2020 (BSS) – The government is set to distribute stipends and allowances for accessories among 1.50 crore primary school students through the Postal Department’s digital financial service Nagad.
To this end, the Department of Primary Education (DPE) today signed a tripartite agreement with Bangladesh Postal Department and Third Wave Technology Limited to eliminate the hassles that the students and their guardians have been facing in receiving the funds in the last few years, said a press release.
Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education Alamgir Muhammad Mansurul Alam, Director General (additional charge) of the Bangladesh Postal Department Md Siraz Uddin and Executive Director of Nagad Md Shafayet Alam inked the agreement on behalf of their respective sides at a ceremony at the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education at the secretariat in the city.
