Firefighters in Bangladesh brought a blaze at a container depot under control on Tuesday, three days after fiery explosions killed at least 49 people at a facility that a senior fire service official suspected had not followed safety guidelines.
“My heartfelt condolences & most sincere sympathies are with the government and people of Bangladesh,” the prime minister said in a statement on Monday.
The UN has said the devastating fire at the BM Container Depot is a reminder of the need to work together towards effective industrial and enterprise safety frameworks and their enforcement.
