Chelsea Gilliam, a trans woman who was held pre-trial at two Maryland correctional facilities for six months said she was sexually assaulted and "treated like an animal."
The lawsuit said Gilliam's treatment qualifies as "cruel and unusual" under the 14th Amendment, gross negligence and as violating the Americans With Disabilities Act.
