We will focus on that area of low pressure that will bring us the chance of some thunderstorms as we head into the afternoon and evening hours. The wind gusts and the cool weather will be there all day. Heres live doppler 7, you can see the cold front moving through the bay. Thats the gray. Thats the cloud cover. Its kicking up but not much in the way of radar returns as you can see. Lets talk about the winds, since theyre the big story. Theyre gusting from 25 to 30 Miles Per Hour. And theyll get even faster, up to 35 Miles Per Hour to 40
On that picture that you showed, that was the cold front, the clouds, they are moving south right now. They dropped some rain in isolated areas near the coast, the peninsula and there was a report of light rain in napa earlier. The big story is this afternoon and this evening when the chance of showers and thunderstorms, lightning and hail rolls in. Locally heavy rain and gusty winds out there. The cloud cover is moving rapidly to the south. Behind it, 20mileperhour to 30mileperhour winds. We had gusts up to 54 Miles Per Hour on tamalpais. So the blustery conditions are, in fact, developing. As you head into the afternoon hours, temperatures wont change much. Upper 50s to low 60s. Hills, northeast gusts could be anywhere from 20 to 40 miles an hour. Relative humidity is dry, current check of the winds up to 37 miles an hour. Mount st. Helena, and mount diablo, 38 mile an hour gusts, theyre strong. Air quality is moderate. Not a spare the air alert today, but theres an advisory and we go in the right direction tomorrow. But Half Moon Bay has cooled to 54. It is 50 in nevada. Look at that santa rosa, down to 49 degrees. Anywhere from two to 27 degrees cooler this morning. So without those east winds blowing as strong, yes, the temperatures are coming down. So 60s at 9 00. Our red flag warning will have expired and by noontime were in the 80s inland. Its another warm day with low 90s there. By the afternoon. But we are cooler at the coast, and bay with that weak onshore flow and more widespread cooling. 66, 55, though, in gilroy. And a look from east bay hills camera, the camera is shaking, upper elevation winds are above 25 miles an hour. 55 in a napa. 48 in santa rosa. We are colder, look at this, 23 degrees cooler along the coast, due to the lightning of the offshore flow. Once the offshore flow backs off temperatures can cool, the nights are longer. But in the upper elevations, yes, it is still breezy. We will get a sea breeze later on today. From our exploratorium camera, looks nice out there, pretty much to the 60s as we go through the next hour or so and then well be well into the 80s, that dry air mass warms quickly in our inland valleys. Low 90s today. So very little change inland. Just by a few degrees, temperatures coming down but around the bay and along the coast.
