The unofficial kick-off to summer, Memorial Day means the warm weather has arrived and summer is around the corner. In addition to the families celebrating the three-day weekend with picnics and parties, local communities have scheduled various events reminding residents about the meaning of the holiday, which honors those who died while serving in the military.
