The City of Dickinson was awarded the Keep America Beautiful Grant, which will go toward installing 20 cigarette litter receptacles throughout the downtown district as well as the bar scene. The city also approved an annual resolution to remove hazardous trees throughout Dickinson.
Recycling Coordinator Rachel Shumaker reports on a community compost and food waste reduction grant that the City of Dickinson received. The grant is a cooperative grant with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources Conservation Service and is directed for residents to help divert some of that usable waste that is processed at the city’s landfill.
