MACCLENNY, FL - Affordable Housing Investment Brokerage Inc. (AHIB) has recently sold Baker Manor Apartments in Macclenny, Florida for just over $2.5 million, with a reserve account released to the seller as additional consideration. Managing Director Kyle Shoemaker represented both the purchaser, The Grey Rock Group, and the seller to complete the transaction.
“Baker Manor is fully-covered by a project-based Section 8 contract that has allowed ownership to invest heavily in the property and make all necessary repairs and renovations as needed,” said Shoemaker.
Centrally located along South 6th Street, the 1974 construction, 50-unit, garden-style apartments consisting of 12 one-bedroom, 26 two-bedroom, and 12 three-bedroom units. Rents in the building range from $655 to $924 per month. Amenities include a playground, pool that underwent renovations in 2018, a laundry facility, community room, and on-site management office.

BUFFALO, N.Y. A clearer picture of coronavirus-related deaths in nursing homes emerged this week when the New York State Department of Health released new numbers that included how many residents died out of facility.
New York State reports 840 nursing home residents in Erie County have died of COVID-19. Of those, 621 were confirmed at nursing homes and 219 were considered out-of-facility deaths. Nine were presumed COVID deaths.

But with a Buffalo Bills playoff game just days away, the staff and residents at Catholic Health s Father Baker Manor in Orchard Park have something to look forward to.
The staff and residents are so excited, they decorated a tree with a Bills theme and got together in their favorite Bills gear and masks to take a photo.

Nursing homes throughout Western New York are beginning to vaccinate residents and workers against Covid-19, which has has killed more than 6,000 residents of nursing homes across the state.
Pharmacists from Walgreens gave shots to 150 residents who consented at Northgate Health Care Facility in Wheatfield and to about 100 workers on Tuesday, said Dawn Harsch, a spokeswoman for the McGuire Group chain of nursing homes. So far there has been more than a 90% acceptance rate for residents, Harsch said.
The Wheatfield facility was among the first to give the shots in the region this week as nursing homes roll out the vaccine over time. Six other McGuire Group nursing homes will administer vaccinations in future weeks.Â
