Habitat for Humanity used furniture store opens in Warminster

It’s hard to find diapers, stained glass lamps, vintage toys and ceramic trinkets all in one place, but that’s what Habitat for Humanity is for. For 13 years, Bucks County’s Habitat chapter has operated its Chalfont ReStore, selling used furniture, clothing, homegoods, appliances and more. But the 22,500-square-foot space just got an upgrade, nearly doubling in size. ReStore is moving to 539 Jacksonville Road in Warminster, a 40,000-square-foot building one of the largest ReStores in the country with a larger parking lot and “more visible” storefront, said Bucks County ReStore Director BJ Breish. Breish, who has worked with Habitat for about seven years, oversees both the new Warminster site, as well as the second Bucks County ReStore in Middletown. He said the move from Chalfont, which was announced in early April, is a response to the store’s popularity and inability to physically accommodate its customers.

Buckingham s Bake Ability empowers young adults with special needs From behind the cash register at Bake Ability, Trey Koller tightened his apron, checked his name tag and braced for a busy day.  Dressed in a tie dye green and blue uniform, the 21-year-old Central Bucks West graduate motioned to the glass display of blueberry scones, chocolate cupcakes, snicker doodles and a store favorite, the magic ability bars. They are all my favorites; I love the smell. I love tasting the baked goods, he said. Most of all, Koller loves handing baked goods to the customers and wishing them a delicious day.
