NEW DELHI: The Union Government on Monday announced that everyone above the age of 18 will be eligible to get a vaccine against COVID-19 from May 1. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Prime Minister Modi said that the government has been working hard for over a year to ensure that maximum numbers of Indians are able to get the vaccine in the shortest possible time. India is vaccinating people at world record pace and we will continue this with even greater momentum.

NEW DELHI: In the wake of the second wave of the COVID-19, the US public health agency has warned travelers against travel to India even if they are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
Further, the agency has placed India in the highest Level 4 category which implies a very high level of Covid-19 .
Meanwhile, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said: Because of the current situation in India, even fully vaccinated travelers may be at the risk for getting and spreading Covid-19 variants and should avoid all travel to India.
Indian Oil starts oxygen supply to Delhi, Haryana, Punjab
India’s largest refiner, Indian Oil Corporation (IndianOil), on Monday said it has begun the supply of 150 MT of medical oxygen at “no cost” to various hospitals in Delhi, Haryana and Punjab.

NEW DELHI: India s largest refiner, Indian Oil Corporation (IndianOil), on Monday said it has begun the supply of 150 MT of medical oxygen at no cost to various hospitals in Delhi, Haryana and Punjab.
The first batch of the lifesaver medical grade Oxygen was dispatched on Monday to Maha Durga Charitable Trust Hospital, New Delhi.
Besides, the company said it has diverted the high-purity oxygen used in its Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG) unit to produce medical-grade liquid oxygen at its Panipat Refinery and Petrochemical Complex. The refiner has scaled down the throughput of the unit.

GUWAHATI: The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) has started dispatching 82 lakh answer scripts to 878 examination centres across the State to ensure smooth conduct of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and the Assam High Madrassa (AHM) Examinations, 2021.
SEBA s move has come at a time when the State is witnessing a fresh wave of COVID-19 positive cases. Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the new government at Dispur would take the final decision on holding the HSLC and AHM examinations after May 2. The HSLC and AHM examinations are scheduled to be held in the State from May 11 to June 1, 2021.
