DHAKA, May 06, 2021 (BSS) – Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque today said the anti-liberation forces killed veteran freedom-fighter, labour-leader,teacher and former lawmaker Ahsanullah Master.
“With the help of state power, the anti-liberation forces killed veteran freedom fighter and former lawmaker Ahsanullah Master,” he said.
He said this while addressing a virtual discussion organized by Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master MP Smriti Parishad as the chief guest on the occasion of the 17th death anniversary of Ahsanullah Master to be observed tomorrow.
It was said at the discussion that on May 7 in 2004, a group of terrorists patronized by the then four-party alliance government led by BNP, killed him on MA Majid Mia High School ground at Noagaon in the district.

DHAKA, Dec 13, 2020 (BSS) – Bangla Academy President Bangabandhu Professor Shamsuzzaman Khan said glorious history of liberation war has enhanced the folk culture of Bangladesh.
He said the socio-economic condition of the particular area affects the folk culture of that region. “Every section of our folk culture has a correlation to the liberation war. Folk literature, folk art or folk song … our folk culture is so rich that it has also acted as an influence in the liberation war,” he added.
Shamsuzzaman Khan, a pioneer of Bangla folklore study, said these in an interview with BSS ahead of the 50th Victory Day of Bangladesh.
