Our Reporter Dimapur, June 29 (EMN): Chumoukedima, the 15th district of Nagaland, was formally inaugurated by Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, on Wednesday. Addressing the crowd during the programme at DC office complex, Rio stated that Chumoukedima district would be called the “land of opportunities”, because there are well established central institutions — three universities as well as good colleges — health facilities, and good connectivity, “which have huge potential for economic activities.” He asserted that Chumoukedima district would become an intellectual hub and a highly economically viable district. NHHDC handloom expo underway in Dimapur - Eastern Mirror

Dimapur, June 16 (EMN): A two-week state handloom expo, organised by the Nagaland Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation (NHHDC) and sponsored by the office of Development Commissioner (Handloom), Ministry of Textiles, government of India, got underway at Urban Haat in Dimapur. The expo was inaugurated by MLA Azheto Zhimomi, on June 16 in the presence of Zakabo V Rotokha, managing director of NHHDC and other officials. An update from NHHDC stated that a total of 60 artisans are participating in the expo by exhibiting various products. It stated that 18 participants from other states such as Assam, Manipur, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Delhi are participating in the expo besides 42 participants are from various districts of Nagaland. The main objective of the exhibition was to promote marketing channels and create market linkage in a holistic and integrated manner. The exhibition is also being organised to showcase the talent of local weavers.

NDPP Dimapur felicitates legislators Longkumer, Zhimomi

Our Reporter Dimapur, June 8 (EMN): Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Moatoshi Longkumer, one of the 21 Naga People’s Front (NPF) legislators who joined the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) in April this year, said that the move was not to create problems but to work together for the greater glory of the party. He, therefore, asked the pioneers of NDPP to remove any apprehensions with regard to them joining the party.
