Famous for playing the role of a priestess with magical powers expressed in incantations and some other mysterious manifestations which had endeared her to her fans for many years, late Folake Aremu, popularly known as ‘Orishabunmi’, rose to fame in the 1980s when she starred in the TV series ‘Arelu’, alongside her ex-husband, the late veteran actor Jimoh Aliu.
Orishabunmi first appeared in a stage play was ‘Ori Ma Binu’, but her role as Orishabunmi in ‘Arelu’ made her a household name in the industry. Some of her iconic roles include; ‘Asabi’ in Oluwerimagboojo” and the priestess in ‘Ayanmo Eda’.
Coach Steve Onishola, the Technical Director of Kwara Falcons Basketball Club of Ilorin, is dead.
Onishola died barely 24 hours after his younger sister, Folake Aremu, a Nollywood actress, popularly known as Orisabunmi, passed on.
The State Chairman of the association, Dr. Joseph Adeyemo, confirmed the death of Onishola in Ilorin on Thursday.
The late basketball coach was said to have passed on at 71 following a brief illness.
The deceased was the Manager of Falcons on different occasions before he was appointed the club’s technical director. He was part of the Falcons’ team that secured promotion for the club to the elite division in 2013.

Veteran Nollywood Actor Jide Kosoko on Wednesday mourned the late Actress, Folake Aremu, popularly known as “Orishabunmi” who died late Tuesday, aged 61.
Kosoko while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday described the late actress as a very jovial fellow who always concealed her anger to make peace with people around her.
He lauded Orishabunmi’s numerous contributions to the development of the entertainment industry.
“Folake did her best, fought and conquered as far as I am concerned. Her contributions to the growth of the entertainment industry can’t be erased, we cannot forget her so soon.

Nollywood Veteran Actress, Orisabunmi, Dead At 60
The Nigerian film industry has lost another veteran Yoruba actor, Folake Aremu, popularly known as Orisabunmi. She died at the age of 60.
The Kwara born actress dies four months after the death of her ex-husband, Jimoh Aliu, who was popularly known as Aworo. x
President of the Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) Bolaji Amusan, known as Mr. Latin, confirmed she died on Tuesday night.
Also, another senior TAMPAN member Tunde Ola-Yusuff also stated that “She left without a goodbye” in a post on social media.
