good morning. and welcome to way too early. on this monday, august 1st. i m jonathan lemire. thanks for being with us. we begin with the situation in ukraine. in a significant breakthrough this morning, a ship carrying ukrainian grain set off from the port of odesa to for the first time since the war started back in february. ukraine s minister of infrastructure tweeted this video of the vessel which is carrying more than 26,000 tons of corn and is on its way to lebanon. the ship is expected to reach istanbul on tuesday where it will be inspected before being allowed to proceed. the move is part of an internationally brokered deal between kyiv and moscow, to release millions of tons of grain to foreign markets, and ease a growing food crisis. ukrainian officials say 16 more ships are waiting to depart odesa s port as part of that deal. meanwhile, russia advances have slowed, almost to a standstill, as newly-delivered western weapons are helping ukrainian forces re-claim

the lawyer alerted the committee which in turn alerted the justice department. sources tell cnn that the person was concerned because they are not someone who routinely communicated with the former president. when asked to respond, trump s spokesman pointed to a tweet criticizing congresswoman liz cheney. the committee is not ruling out future hearings later this summer. the chairman pointed to that surprise june 28th hearing with cassidy hutchinson saying quote something could come up. another member of the committee said additional hearings would quote depend on where the evidence takes us, and there was chatter last night there may be a few more set for august. the hearing that is set one week from today will focus on donald trump s actions or lack thereof, while the attack was under way. what many have called a dereliction of duty. joining us now, senior reporter for insider, great to see you again this morning, it feels like every hearing has outdone itself with surpri

good morning. and welcome to way too early. on this friday, august 19th. friday, folks. we made it. i m jonathan lemire. thanks for starting your day with us. the federal judge deciding whether to unseal the affidavit in the unprecedented search of mar-a-lago appeared to stake out the middle ground yesterday. saying he is inclined to unseal it, the magistrate judge gave the justice department until next thursday to submit redactions. in a written ruling, the judge stated, the government has not met its burden of showing that the entire affidavit should remain sealed. the judge said he would review the proposed reactions and then, redactions and decide if he agrees. he could not give a time line beyond next thursday saying quote this is going to be a considered careful process. the the government had argued against unsailing the affidavit laming it would jeopardize its investigation, and because it contains quote substantial grand jury information with national security over
