PORANKI (KRISHNA DISTRICT): Affirming that the village and ward volunteer system has redefined governance, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said this format has shown the world how effective the welfare delivery system could be with inclusiveness.
2,22,990 Village / Ward Volunteers will be felicitated with awards and a cash incentive totalling to Rs 228.74 crore and the programme will start in every constituency from the next day after the Ugadi festival.
Formally launching the Visishta Puraskar Seva Award presentation ceremony held here on Monday, the Chief Minister said the service orientation of the volunteers is laudable and the Awards will be an annual affair to felicitate those who have shown exemplary work.

The East Godavari district authorities are set to felicitate the Village and Ward Volunteers from April 12 to 21, marking their services at the ground level and role in implementing the welfare schemes.
In an official release, District Collector D. Muralidhar Reddy has said that Assembly constituency-level schedule has been finalised and the recipients of best service awards have been identified across the district. The felicitation programme will commence in Kakinada city and rural Assembly segments on April 12.

The Government will felicitate more than 2,22,900 volunteers under three categories on Ugadi day

AMARAVATI: Recognising the efforts and services rendered by the Village and Ward Volunteers, the Andhra Pradesh State Government has decided to felicitate them on Ugadi Day 2021. This was announced by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during a review meeting on housing and infrastructure development on Wednesday, where he directed officials to felicitate them on April 13.
As part of this, the Government will felicitate more than 2,22,900 volunteers under three categories:
Complaints can be registered on 0866-2466877, the commission’s 24x7 call centre. State Election Commissioner N. Ramesh Kumar said in a press release that electioneering involving ward volunteers for the elections to Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) is prohibited and constitutes an electoral offence in violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
Mr. Kumar said complaints can be registered on 0866-2466877, the commission’s 24x7 call centre, and action would be taken immediately. Complaints can also be mailed to secy.apsec2@gmail.com. Complaints can be registered with District Collectors and Municipal Commissioners concerned.
Besides, written complaints can be lodged with the election officers.

YSR Congress Party leader and former Minister Dadi Veerabhadra Rao has appealed to the High Court to restrain State Election Commissioner (SEC) Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar from issuing any policy-related guidelines without prior permission of the court.
Speaking to the media at Anakapalle on Monday, Mr. Veerabhadra Rao has alleged that the SEC was issuing irresponsible orders by succumbing to vested political interests.
