The Angelo State women’s soccer team completed an undefeated season, which culminated with a close 1-0 victory over the Dallas Baptist Patriots in the Lone Star Conference Spring Championship.
Despite their perfect record, the Belles were considered the underdog, as DBU came into this game as the No. 1 ranked team and opened the game showing why they are ranked so high. In the first twenty minutes of the game, DBU consistently made attacking moves into the Belles final third, but were unable to make any meaningful attempts at goal. The Angelo State Belles on March 10 hosted the St. Edward s Hilltoppers at the ASU Soccer Field. They won the game handily 3-0, and improved to a stellar 4-0 record. All three goals scored by the Belles were products of great soccer play. Additionally, the team demonstrated an uncanny ability to play out from the back and cross the ball in from either sideline, but the game was not without its fair share of drama and intensity.
