Photo courtesy Asim Bajwa Twitter Chairman of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority Asim Saleem Bajwa shared on Wednesday that 88 per cent of the work on the Karot Hydropower Project has been completed. The hydropower project the first of its kind under the CPEC is expected to be completed in April 2022 and is being built on the River Jhelum, he said. Sharing the details of the Karot Hydropower Project in a tweet, Bajwa said the investment in it amounted to $1,780 million while 5,000 local people were directly employed for its construction.

  KARACHI, May 8 (Gwadar Pro) - Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has said that the work on Dhabeji Special Economic Zone (DSEZ) under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) should be expedited.   In a meeting with CPEC Authority chief Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa (retd) here at the Governor’s house, Imran Ismail reviewed the progress on CPEC projects, said an official statement issued on Friday.   “Governor Sindh Imran Ismail and Chairman CPEC Authority Asim Saleem Bajwa reviewed progress on CPEC projects in the province. The two dignitaries also discussed matters of mutual interest during the meeting,” added the statement.   Bajwa said that CPEC projects in Sindh were being completed at a fast pace. He said work on Dhabeji SEZ was going smoothly and would be further expedited.
