ISLAMABAD, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) As night fell, 30-year-old Aisar Uddin called on his families in Hunza as usual. This time though, he was making sure whether his sister had received the money he had sent back home for her school fees.

ISLAMABAD: China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is moving to a new direction of industrial and agriculture development, which will require the private sector to play a bigger in collaboration with technology companies, commerce adviser said on Thursday.
“The government will facilitate at the maximum level to ensure the establishment of large-scale manufacturing units and information technology zones under CPEC,” said Abdul Razak Dawood, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Commerce and Investment at the first meeting of the recently re-constituted CPEC Business Council.
Dawood chaired the meeting to create an interface between the government and business community and to further the China-Pakistan industrial cooperation for mutual benefit.

ISLAMABAD The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects have achieved major progress despite grave economic and health challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Chairman of the CPEC Authority Asim Saleem Bajwa said on Monday. After successful completion of the first phase, CPEC is expanding into its second phase as per schedule despite a very serious setback of COVID-19 around the world, ensuring economic stability and well-being of the people of Pakistan, Bajwa said while addressing an awarding ceremony for outstanding Pakistani staff of CPEC projects.

ISLAMABAD, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) China s policy of openness featured by the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), as well as the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, would be key to help revive global economy amid severe challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Chairman of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority Asim Saleem Bajwa said on Tuesday. At the time when the global economy is going through recession due to the pandemic and countries including the most developed are looking for the recovery, China is open to make BRI a joint venture of prosperity for the world, Bajwa said at a conference on the BRI convened by a Pakistan-based think tank the Sustainable Development Policy Institute.
