Sara Takanashi, Marita Kramer and Silje Opseth
Austrian Marita Kramer won two days in a row the World Cup in Titisee-Neustadt, Germany. Following just behind with 2.2 difference, Japanese Sara Takanashi scored today 263.5 points. Hill record holder Silje Opseth from Norway finished third.
Confirming she prefers large hill, Marita Kramer posted the longest jump today in the first round with 137.5 m. « Win twice here is just mega cool, I am really happy. My jumps were on a very good level, I will just keep working like this and I am already looking forward to the next World Cup said the Austrian, keeping now clearly the yellow bib away from the others.
Difficult weather conditions
For the Women’s World Cup, Titisee-Neustadt in Germany is the first Large Hill in this season and definitely the largest ever. Ready to compete on this Hochfirstschanze hill of 142m, 57 women were jumping this afternoon. The rain was quite strong but this didn’t prevent the athletes to enjoy the hill for the first training round. Due to the strong wind and weather conditions, the jury decided to cancel the second training round and the qualification was postponed until tomorrow.
Postponed to 16.30 already because of difficult weather conditions, the first training was nevertheless carried out smoothly. Current leader Austrian Marita Kramer fell after landing but remained the best in the first (and only fully completed) training round with a jump of 136 m but the longest jump was posted by Slovenian Nika Kriznar with 143.5 m.
